Worlds Five Most Biggest Religions

       In all times and places in history human beings have wondered where did we come from ? what's our place in the world? what happens to us after we die ? Religions are system of belief that have developed and evolved over time in response to this and other eternal mysteries driven by the motive that some questions can only be answered by faith and based on the belief that there are some higher beings we must answer .

       HINDUISM means the religion of India , it is not a single religion but rather a variety of beliefs and spiritual practices . It date backs to 400 BCE   to 200 CE the age of Mahabharata when Bhagavad Gita was written. Krishna the avatar of Vishnu, the incarnation of God in human form . He taught that all life follows the  Karma , the law of cause and effect and our job is to do our duty, the Dharma . Hinduism beliefs in the cycle of birth and rebirth this is called Samsara , and only a holy man can break this cycle and get Moksha. Hinduism has an astonishing number of Gods and Goddess according to variety of traditions within a single religion but there are main three figures. Brahma- the creator of the universe , Vishnu - the protector and Shiva - the destroyer .

     

     JUDAISM began with God calling Abraham and Sarah to leave Mesopotamia and migrate to the land of Canaan.In return for their faith in the one true God, a revolutionary concept in the polytheistic world of that time,they would have land and many descendants. from this promise came the land of Israel but the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt,but God freed them with the help of prophet Moses, who received ten commandments and later 100s more. In year 70,  Romans destroyed the temple in their capital Jerusalem so the religion transformed itself from temple religion with sacrifices and priests  to a religion of book because of this , Judaism is a faith  of symbolism , reverence, and  deep meanings tied to its literature of history , many sacred scriptures make up the Hebrew Bible or Tanakh . There are 14 million Jews people in the world .

     BUDDHISM  originated in ancient India between 6th and 4th centuries BCE spreading through out Asia. Prince Siddhartha was born into a life of luxury. venturing froth from his sheltering existence as a young man he witnessed human suffering that had been hidden from him and immediately set out set out to investigate its sources. At first he thought that was materialistic things so he gave up all his possessions and he became a wandering beggar and while meditating under a bodhi tree, he realized that all the sufferings of life are caused by selfish cravings for ones own fulfillment on the expense of others . Following an eight step plan can teach us to reduce the craving , and thus reduce the suffering . On that day Siddhartha became the Buddha, the enlightened one. From the time he got up under that tree to the moment he died as an old man , Buddha taught people how to become enlightened,right speech , right goal , a mind focused on what is real , and a heart a focused on loving others.There are nearly billion Buddhists mostly east , southeast  ,and south Asia.

 CHRISTIANITY was born in the land of Judaism 2000 years ago , just as Hindus call Krishna "God in human form" Christians said the same about Jesus, and Christianity   grew out of Judaism .The angel Gabriel was sent by the God Abraham to ask a young women Mary to become mother of his son .The son was Jesus , raised as a carpenter by Mary and her husband Joseph. Jesus healed the sick in order to draw crowds and taught about his heavenly father - affectionate, forgiving,  and attentive . His unconventional wisdom got him in trouble as he was executed by Rome in the standard means by which rabble-rousers were put to death crucifixion.But shortly after he was buried women found his tomb empty and quickly spread word , convinced that he had been raised the dead.First Christians spread his message of - Love one another as i loved you.There are two billion Christians world wide , representing almost a third of world population .

       ISLAM began 1400 years ago with a man of great virtue meditating in a mountain cave in the Arabian dessert .The man was Muhammad.He was visited by a divine messenger , again the angel Gabriel  , in Arabic Jibril , delivering him the words of Allah, the one God of Abraham , the more and more messages came and he memorized it and taught them .many agreed with his verses were indeed the words of God, and these believers became the first Muslims . The word Muslim means one who surrenders , meaning a person who submits to the will of God .A Muslims five most important duties are called the Five pillars : Shahada Muslims declare publicly , there is no other God but Allah, and Muhammad is final prophet ; Salat , they pray five times a day facing Mecca; Zakat every Muslim is required to give 2% or 3% of their net worth to the poor ;  Swam , they fast during daylight hours for the lunar month of Ramadan to strengthen their will power and their reliance on God ; and Hajj, once in a life time ,every Muslim who is able must make a pilgrimage to  the holy city of Mecca . The word of God revealed to the prophet over 23 years , are collected in Quran,Muslims believe it to be the only holly book free of corruption it's also considered by many to be the finest work of literature in the Arabic language. Islam is the second largest religion in the world  practices by over a half billion  Muslims around the globe.
